Some may ask Was it a happy ending? Of course it is! Judging from the show, it couldn’t possibly be a sad ending. All the 3 pairs end up together in the end. Or did you guess otherwise?

I managed to watch the last episode only just now through a chinese source, didn’t catch the live telecast on tuesday. The ending was about how all the three pairs got even closer with each other, portraying the love they had for their partners. As usual there are some “mini” incidents happening to all of them. Young Hee was angry with Chul Soo for not selecting that comic that she had submitted but of course there is a reason for this. The sad part of this ending is that meizhu, the little girl whom the lawyer wanted to adopt, was taken away by her aunt and was never found.

I feel that this whole series is quite different from the typical korean drama in which there isn’t a triangle love relationship or one that involves four parties. Each pair is already defined at the start of the show. The whole show basically shows their love, hate, care, anger towards each other and how the love for their other half brought them together in the end.

The ending of Saranghae is also well executed and does not feel rushed. One reason maybe that they finished filming before they started to air the series. This is quite different from other korean dramas where they film and air the drama concurrently which usually results in a very rushed ending.

Even though the tv ratings of Saranghae is pretty low, only 4.9% nationwide for the finale, i feel that this is a good show after all. Maybe many people feel that the plot is too typical and predictable, hence they lost interest in this show. But this is a series that shows love and love for your loved ones.
