Tokyo Shower is a 4-episode joint production between Korea and Japan. It is about a love story in Tokyo. Seven years ago, Lee Soo Jin played by Kim Sa Rang was tired of her actress life and hence ran away while filming in Tokyo. After alighting from the train, she wandered around and eventually entered a Sushi Restaurant. At there she met Hyun Soo played by Kim Tae Woo and their love story begins from there.
It was not long before they were separated by force. Now seven years later, Lee Soo Jin has become a famous actress in Asia. She visits Japan every year hoping to find Hyun Soo. But will they meet eventually?
Although my title seems to suggest a pretty optimistic ending which means a happy ending, I seriously do not know what will happen in the end. The second episode ends with their separation from each other. A love lost seven years ago, it will be very sad if they are not able to find it back.
The drama feels like a movie to me. From the filming style to the plot, everything contain elements of a movie. You can basically treat this as a 4hr movie if you want to. Viewers can see nice sceneries with Sakura (Cherry Blossom). The pictures and sceneries are so beautiful that I suspect this filming to be sponsored by Japan’s Tourism Board. Kim Sa Rang acted very well. She gave the feeling that she was really on her first love and she is so beautiful. Kim Tae Woo’s acting is not bad but not really very exceptional.
The 3rd and 4th (final) episode of Tokyo Shower will be shown on the 9th and 10th respectively. Highly recommended for those looking for a short and sweet drama.
