The press conference of SBS’s upcoming Gourmet was held today. The leading casts including lead actor Kim Rae Won, Nam Sang Mi, Kim So Yeon, Kwon Oh Joong attended the conference.
Gourmet is an adaptation of the popular comic series of the same title. Its author Hur Young Man had spent four years collecting materials and ideas needed in order to complete the comic. Lifetime sales of the comic series numbered over a million copies and the Gourmet comic series has since became a household name in Korea.

Kim Rae Won will be playing the main character of the story, Sung Chan. Sung Chan is a talented cook who travels around Korea to learn the most authentic Korean food recipe. Through his adventures, he finally learns the true meaning of Gourmet. And during the process, he met Jin Soo, a newspaper reporter who then fell in love with him. Jin Soo will be played by Nam Sang Mi who last acted in “Time Between Dog and Wolf”.
This 24-episode TV series boast of a wide range of authentic Korean cuisines. Not only will the viewers be treated to those delicacies, they will also be able to learn some of the recipes through the drama.
Alternate names for Gourmet are Shikgaek or Trencherman. The first episode of Gourmet will be broadcast on the 17th of June on SBS network.
